Fall 2022 – Festivals and Fun Things to Do!

Fall is an exciting time in Citrus County! As the nights begin to cool we naturally get a hankering for all things outdoors!

Even if you are not a fan of the traditional autumnal sights, sounds and flavors we are quite sure that you will find something on the schedule of events to enjoy while you’re in the Crystal River area!

Here are just a few upcoming events you won’t want to miss…..

Get outside and celebrate ‘Save Our Waters Week’

Enjoy a guided kayak tour of the St. Martin’s Marsh Aquatic Preserve on September 23rd from 8 am to 11 am.

You can rent a kayak or bring your own. All proceeds benefit the St Martin’s Marsh Aquatic Preserve Society.

This annual event is only $25 per person and will introduce you to the scenic waters, hidden gems, and the culture of this area the best way we know how – by paddle craft!

2022 Crystal River Scarecrow Festival

Kick off the fall festival season in style as the City of Crystal River and Heritage Village presents the Annual Scarecrow Fest.

This highly anticipated family-friendly event features costumes, games, vendors, and live music to benefit local charities.

On October 8th, downtown Crystal River will be waiting to welcome you with all the colors of fall, friendly scarecrows and spooky sights from 10 am until 6 pm.

Refuge Day is BACK!

Refuge Day is a local favorite in Crystal River!

This event is hosted at the NEW Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge Complex!  Here, you will enjoy music, crafts, boat tours,  and interpretive tours! There will even be free hotdogs, and free face painting!

Visit the new Visitor Center and Nature Store to learn more about the Florida Manatee and their habitat!

For the early riser birders in the group, there will be an 8am birding tour through Three Sisters Springs. For this aactivity, there will be a $5.00 discount for entry into Three Sisters Springs. To reserve a space on the bus over, email monica_scroggin@fws.gov.

Second Annual “Taste of Crystal River”

The  ‘Taste of Crystal River’ is back! Join us in town square on October 21 from 5 pm to 9 pm to taste the town.

This event will feature tasting plates from participating restaurants. Beer and wine sales also available, as well as live entertainment!

A Fisherman’s Fancy

Two huge fishing tournaments are coming up soon!

The Redfish Classic at the Plantation on King’s Bay is a favorite among locals as well as pros on October 22nd. Keep up with event details HERE!

The King of the Bay returns for its third year, and turnout has been incredible! This tournament runs on November 18th and 19th and joins Pete’s Pier for two days of fun-filled events with food, vendors, and great music. Find out more HERE!

Weekend Long Country Jam

On October 28-30th Inverness will host the much anticipated ‘Country Jam’.

Inverness is just a short drive from Crystal River and Liberty Park on Lake Henderson will be home to two stages with several world-class country acts!

Sawyer Brown, Lorrie Morgan, and Aaron Tippin are just a few of the highlights! You don’t want to miss this!

Last But not Least – A Stone Crab FEAST!

We have saved one of the most popular local traditions for last!

The 15th annual Stone Crab Jam will take over Citrus Ave and King’s Bay Park on Saturday, November 5th from noon until 10 pm.

This is THE fall festival of the year! Enjoying live music on 3 stages featuring 6 live bands, dancing in the streets, beer and wine, and of course – fresh stone crab claws!

You do not want to miss this incredible event!
